Eta Sigma Delta is a prestigious international society that recognises exceptional academic achievement amongst hospitality and tourism students. Established in 2002, the SHTM branch is administered by the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education.
Student who become Eta Sigma Delta members distinguish themselves in the eyes of educators, recruiters, and industry executives. The society provides a network system of over 90 chapters where outstanding students can exchange information and ideas, and participate in campus activities, fund-raising, and voluntary programmes. In addition, the chapters stimulate students to strive for academic excellence by providing tutoring and other forms of academic support.
To be eligible for membership in Eta Sigma Delta, students must meet the following criteria:
- Have completed at least 50% of the credit hours required for graduation;
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5; and
- Agree to uphold the values of excellence, leadership, creativity, service, and ethics.
