MicroMasters in International Hospitality Management (Online Programme)
The School of Hotel and Tourism Management’s (SHTM) MicroMasters programme in International Hospitality Management (IHM) bridges the knowledge gap between the workplace and higher education. The first online hospitality and tourism MicroMasters in the world, this ground-breaking online credential provides learners with a solid foundation in managing high-quality businesses around the world, assisting in career advancement and a path to an accelerated on-campus programme.
Led by Professor Cathy Hsu, the MicroMasters programme consists of four Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), presented via the edX platform. Learners who successfully earn their credential are eligible to apply for PolyU's Master of Science in International Hospitality Management, International Tourism and Convention Management or International Wine Management programme. As of 20 November 2020, the MicroMasters programme has attracted more than 82,495 participates from 198 countries and regions.
The MicroMasters is a vital modular and flexible credential for the digital age – ideal academic currency for today's world of continuous, lifelong learning. It is also an important part of an inverted admissions process, allowing learners everywhere to experience master's-level coursework before committing the significant time and money required to apply for and enrol in master's degree programmes.
